Roomies prezzies

Hya

How has your week been? Mine hasn't been too bad. Been busy at work and then in my madness decided to go christmas shopping yesturday. I thought I would try and get most of it out of the way before the real madness begins. Too late. People are so rude shoving each other out of the way!!

Anyway, back to the calm. I wanted to show you what I made for my roomies while we where in paris. I bought some Journals from Stampin' Up and decided to decorate them so that Kate and Karen could jot down anything they wanted to whilst there. I covered the jornals with Hostess DSP papers Cheerful Treat. Then layered their names onto Melon Mambo card. I punched out some Concord Crush with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. I then inked some Paper Daises in the Concord Crush and Old Olive and attached to the front. I then covered some chocolates so they co-ordinated and added ribbon to match.

Here is a close up of Kates.

Meet Bazill.

Bazill is my roomie gift from Karen. He is a fox from the Blue Nose family and when I saw him I just fell in love with him. Now you will see lots of Bazill as he also had his own adventures. This is his first having his breakfast ahead of a very busy day in Paris Disneyland.

This last photo is from our first night there. We had gone to the Rainforrest Cafe with some other Jems for dinner. At the front left is Kate, then Sarah-Jane, our Stampin' Up mummy Julie, Me, Karen, Jill and then Nicky.

I hope you likes. Have a good week.

Just back from Paris

Hya

Have you had a good week end?

Guess what? I have. I have been on the Stampin' Up Convention which was held in DisneyLand Paris. What a weekend. It certainly has been a hectic weekend. From leaving Leeds on thursday till returning on monday evening. So much has happened I have had to have a couple of days chillin out.

I am going to show you what I gave as general swaps. The die I used wasn't a Stampin' Up die but the card, stamps and inks were.

This one is made with Old Olive but the others have been made with various card and colours. On this one I used was Season of Joy. I punched a flower using the Itty Bitty Punch and then put a rhinestone jewel for the bling factor. I then decorated with a little bit of Real Red Ribbon. Inside the box was a little block of chocolate just for a treat.

Some of the Jems made gifts for each other. I really couldn't decide what to do and then came up with the idea of using some of the brown wrapping that we recieve in our parcels when we order Stampin' Up products. I stamped flowers from the Simply Said stamp set in Island Indigo onto the brown paper. On Pool Party I stamped using Island Indigo again with Cute By The Inch and punch out with Scallop Square. To decorate I have punched out an Itty Bitty flower and used the Rhinestone Jewel for bling. Here are all the prezzies together.

Here is just one of them on their own so you can see it clearly.

Right I'm off now. Karen and I are having a chillin out afternoon to recover.
Hope you likey.

A birthday card

Hya,

What a lovely day it has been here in Leeds today. I took myself off to a farmers markey this morning and had a great time taste testing and buying local produce. I'm a sucker for nice cheese and a fancy cake. :) Then this afternoon I have been to a wool factory with Karen, who was having a big sale on. I have got in to knitting as much as card making. I have found it very relaxing.

So I have a card to show you today that was done for a friends birthday.

The colour combo is Whisper White and Island Indigo. The back ground is a stamp called En Francais, with the coloured circles layered on top. The greeting is from the Curly Cute stamp set, which I have used quite alot. The edging was made using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I have then finished off with a bow made from the Whisper White Organza Ribbon and the Pearl Jewels.

Well that's me for now. I hope you likey. I'm off to get a few things ready for work for tomorrow.

Have a good week.

A New Start

Hya

Hello to you in blogland. I am sorry I haven't blogged in so long. I have been quite poorly. I am starting to get on my feet now, thanks to having support from some wonderfull friends. I couldn't have managed with out them.

So I decided it's time to put the blog back on it's feet.

Back in the summer I attended an all day training session with my Stampin' Up mum Julie and fellow Jems. At this training was Victoria Rogers who showed us some framed pictures that she had made using the Stampin' Up products. Well I totally fell in love with these pictures and decided I had to have a go myself.

So here is my take on them,

On this one my main colours were Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White. This picture I love as it's girly. I have been able to use loads of bling.

On this second one I love the christmas theme and colours. I have used the base colours being Real Red, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. Again I have used bling and also some glitter but you can't see that so much.

I really enjoyed making these pictures and the good thing was that I could use up all sorts of bits and pieces that I had left over.

Right, first blog done now. I will try my best to keep it going.

Thanks for having a look see and if you liked please let me know.

A new class

Hya

Morning peeps in blogland. Where has the time gone. Sorry for not blogging for a while but I have just had to take a little time out for myself. Have you ever had where you just need to switch off and re-focus? Well that's just what I have done for a bit. That doesn't mean to say I haven't been busy doing.

Last week I did a new class with some lovely ladies. Hi to Moyra, Elaine and Lesley-Anne. We had a lovely afternoon making and talking crafts. They are the sort of afternoons I love.

I had been told that Mora is a big fan of butterflies, so with that in mind we made a card using the Flight of The Butterflies stamp set. I haven't used this set for quite a while and absolutley loved it (and so did they!!) The colour way we used was Pacific Point, Bashfull Blue and Night of Navy.

They also made a little gift box that was then filled with gorgeous chocs (which we then demolished later!!)

So a few things to do before I go off to do a class at Julies today.

Have a good week.

Something Different

Hya,

How was your weekend? The weather has been really nice hasn't it. I haven't had much chance to sit out in it but it's a nice feeling seeing the sun out. Thank you for all your lovely comments and cards lately. It really does keep me going.

Something abit different for you today. I had been asked to make a card for a lady who is celebrating 60 years of being a nun. That's her Diamond Jubilee. My initial thought was ' What on earth I am I going to do?' Well after abit of erming and doing this is what I came up with.

What do you think? I have used my own card stock for the base and then layered with some retired card Barely Banana and Ballet Blue. The stampset I used was Special Blessings. I used Night of Navy ink pad for the colour. The ribbon is also retired Stampin' Up stock. And you know me it's not quite the same without abit of girly. The Basic Pearls have saved the day again.

So on that note I am off to sort my tea out,

Thanks for looking

Jem Swap

Hya,

Just a quicky.

I realised that I hadn't posted the swap I made for the Jems swap for the new mini catalogue. This swap was made using the Hope and Strength stamp Set. This set has been released for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For every set that Stampin' Up sell they will donate £1 to the foundation.

I used Crumb Cake for the main with Pretty in Pink for the touches. I have stamped the H with Melon Mambo. You can only just see but I have stamped the butterfly wing just to give a bit of detail. I have used the fabulous new Seam Binding in Baja Blue, and I wouldn't be me if I didn't put a bit of bling on now would I.

So off to cook tea now. Hope you like. Thanks for looking.

Bad Lynda.

Hya,

Sorry for not posting for a while, where has the time gone. Before I knew it a whole week has passed before I know it.

Today I have had a great day. I have spent the day with my lovely Stampin' Up sisters, and 'Mummy' Jules. We have made some great projects for the new mini catalogue. I will get around to showing you them soon. There are some amazing great products in the mini including THE BIGSHOT--whoo hoo. And just wait till you see the fabulous dies and embossing folders.

Last week I held a class with my lovely ladies. You remember the card organiser I made? Well that's what they made too. We used the DSP Paper stack in the brights. It was great to see them in all sorts of different colours.

Don't they look great? I will have to go and do my own range of colours now.

I thought I would show you a Thank you card I made for a consultant who helped me so much during my doing the course. It is made using the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set which is one of the fabulous new things out of the catalogue. The colour combo is Rose Red. Pear Pizzaz and So Saffron. The ribbon is Satin Daffodil Delight. You may be also able to see that I have used some little Itty Buttons on the card that just finish it off.

Just one last thing before I go. I know, you don't hear from me for ages then I can't shut up!!!

I thought I would show you a picture of Lauren when she was going to do her work experience. She worked at Leeds Registery Office and ushered on some weddings too. She absolutely loved it but how grown up does she look?

So Iam definately going now. Have a good week.

Wednesday 30 March 2011

Wow, what a busy week.

Hya,

How's your day been?

Well I could get used to being a lady of leisure. So far this week has gone according to plan. On sunday I had a lovely afternoon celebrating my friend Angela's birthday. We went to Bibi's in Leeds and saw a Frank Sinatra tribute act. The food was absolutley gorgeous and we all had a great afternoon. Yesturday I went to see my boys WESTLIFE in sheffield. Again such a great night. Phew!!

Then today I sat my final exam for the Medical Secretary Course and ....

I passed with flying colours. I got 98%. Yeah, it's all done and dusted. I can now call myself a qualified medical secretary.

Tomorrow Iam having my hair cut by a friends daughter, friday Iam having breakfast with a friend and then mooching around the shops. Saturday I have my great ladies for another class. Wow, how do i have time to work??

So I thought I would show you a card that goes in the organisor that I showed you monday.

This again is using the Bliss Sale-A-Bration set. The colours are Basic Black and Real Red.

Here's and inside view too.

So that's me done for now. Have a great rest of the week.

Card Organisor

Hya,

Well hello there in blogland. This is unusual for me to be able to blog during the day during the week. I have taken some well deserved time off from work and thought I would catch up on a few things. It's amazing how much quieter it is to get things done and not be having a certain daughter wanting my attention. She may be coming up to 15 but she still likes to know her mum is doing with her. I also have quite a bit of revision to do as I have my final exam on wednesday. Hopefully this will be the very last and will be a qualified medical secretary.

Speaking of which, Lauren is on her 2 week work experience. Where else would she be than the town hall where weddings are being held. I have to say she seems to be having a ball and has been involved in a few weddings alreading ( even a posh one!!). She went out in her suit on friday and looked very grown up. Where has the time gone??

Today I thought I would show you a project that we did at my Stampin' Up mums. Julie had an all day class and we made this organisor. When I first saw this I wasn't sure about it but I am so chuffed with it that I made one for a friend for her birthday. (I will show you that one later).

The papers used for this project are from the Love Letter DSP papers. Arn't they gorgeous? The butterflies on the front are stamped using the Bliss Stampset from the Sale-a-Bration promotion that Stampin' up had recently. The handles are made with Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon and just finish it off lovely.

You can see that there are some dividers made out of Real Red card stock and have months of the year printed on Whisper White. You can record any special occasion that you will be needing to make a card for and there is enough room to store a ready made card here too.

So I hope you likey.

Katies Card

Hya

How has your week been? Mine has been busy but ok. I only have two weeks left to finish my course so there has been abit of a push to get everything up to finishing point. Phew!!

Today i have had a lovely day. Lauren and I went to the Harrogate Papercraft Show at the Harrogate Showground. Whilst there I bumped into quite a few Stampin' Up sisters. I also met my sister in law who I haven't seen in absolutley ages. It was lovely to see her and also be able to talk craft with her, so 'Hi Elaine you and your lovely friends made my day today'. I got so much inspiration whilst there and didn't spend too much either.

I wanted to show you a card that I made for my friends daughter. Katie has finally qualified as a nurse in January. I am so pleased for her. She has put so much hard work in to the last five years that she totally deserves every bit of this. It hasn't been an easy road for her but she certainly will make the most wonderful nurse there can be. It just shows that if you put the work in it reaps in all the rewards.
I have used a Jolly Nation character which just fit the bill perfectly. The card stock I have used is a Very Vanilla layered with Brocade Blue (which is retired now). The greeting is from the stamp set Curly Cute stamped with Night of Navy ink.
So off to look at my goodies (yet again!!)
Have a lovely week,

Regional Training

Hya,

Well hello there in blogland. I am sorry I haven't posted for a long while. Things just got abit too much for me. I am finally coming to the end of my secretarial course so the pressure should ease there for me. Things have also been abit crazy at work too. I found that my mojo had also deserted me.

But......

Last saturday was an absolute treat because me and my Stampin' Up family got chance to spend the day at regional training here in Leeds. I went with my Stampin' Up sister Karen and we shared a table with some other great demo's. It was a great day, we made stuff (but I'm not allowed to show you those just yet) and did lots of swaps. We also had a treat because the lovely Derek from Stampin' Up in the USA came and did some presentations. He is very inspiring.

So on that note, here is my swap. I made about 45 of these and got some fabulous ideas in return.

Here is a group shot!!

And here is just a very small sample of the swaps I recieved in return.

So....now I feel that the whole day has inspired me alot more so fingers crossed this isn't the last blog from me.

Thankyou for taking the time to see my stuff again, have a good week crafting.

Calendar Card

Hya,

How is your week going so far? Mine's good. Having some more time off work. I know...It shudn't be allowed. It's lovely not having to get up and get ready for work. I have spent an afternoon with Jules on Tuesday which was really nice. Then today I have spent some time with my lovely friend carol talking craft. I am in the process of getting a few things ready for saturday when Iam going to spend the day with my Stampin' Up sisters at Julies for a full day's training. I can't wait.

I thought I would show you a card i made for my ladies that did the class on saturday. They are very loyal to me and I wanted to thank them for their support. I did 2 different colour ways because not everyone likes pink do they.

The first card is from Regal Rose and Pear Pizzaz. The image is from one of the fabulous Sale - a - Bration stamp set. This one is the Sweet Summer set. The numbers are from the Schoolbook Serif Numbers set. The ribbon is some So Saffron which is retired and from my stash.

The other card was made out of some retired card Brocade Blue layered with Pear Pizzazz. Same flower and ribbon as before.

So on that note, it's time for me to organise myself. No simple task, I asure you!!!

Have a lovely rest of the week.

Scrapbook House

Hya,

How are you doing? Good week? Mine hasn't been too bad and i have even had a couple of days off work. Now that was nice. I also had a good evening on wednesday as one of my Stampin' Up friends - Karen- came and did some crafting which was lovely. We were trying out some ideas for some training we are attending at our Stampin' Up mums next week.

So would you like to see what i managed to make on my day off? This idea was given to me when we went to convention in November. Michelle Last did a presentation on a scrapbook house which i loved. So after some re -jigging i came up with mine.....

The pictures are of my Lauren. The papers i have used are from the Nursery Suite Speciality Papers and i have used the Nursery Suite Quick Accents to embelish the photos. The colour combo used is So Saffron, Regal Rose and Choc Chip. I have also used a stamp from the Bundle of Love stamp set for the wording.

I also have had a lovely day today with my ladies who have also made their version of the houses. I have to say they were all made up with them once they saw them coming to life.

Here is a couple of photos of their offerings. (They are a little shy to have wanted to have their pics taken with them!)

Here's Pam's,

And here's Terry's,

So time to crash out for a bit. Hope you likey, have a good week,

Thank you card

Hya,

How are you all this week? What a week!! I seem to have so been busy but don't seem to have a lot to show for it. I don't seem to have my mojo with me at the moment, i wish i knew where i've left it. I seem to be struggling to get any crafting done.

I have had a bit of trouble recently in that my washer gave up the ghost. You don't realise how much you depend on one until you can't use it. Well, my very good friend Carol was my angel and helped me out. So i thought i would make her a Thank You card.

I have used the BroadSheet Alphabet stamp set. It's the first chance i have to use since i bought it a while ago. The colour combo was Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Concorde Crush. The ribbon was some Certainly Celery i had in my stash. I don't know if you can see it properly but i put a little gem on the middle of the bow. I know, those pesky little gems get every where don't they?? (but i love em!!)
Well back to find that mojo again. Have a great week.

Last of the Christmas Cards

Hya

How has your week been? Can you believe that the first week of January is over all ready? No neither can I. It's very worrying that there doesn't seem to be a minute of the day left for anything but before you know it it's the end of the week already.

I thought i would show you the last of the christmas cards. It doesn't seem right showing more when we are starting to look forward to spring arriving.

The first card is one I made my good friend Angela. For this one I used The Serene Snowflakes stampset (yes, I know, this one was definatley put to good use.) I like the fact that you can make lots of different styles of cards with one set. The cardstock is Old Olive layered with Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler. Nice christmassy colours. I stamped some of the snowflakes with the champayne shimmer paints. The greeting is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped with the Curly Cute set. The ribbon is the Striped Grosgain in Old Olive.

The next card was for my lovely friend Carol. She absolutley loves the House Mouse series so i got some decoupage sheets of them and made it up. I layered onto some Real Red cardstock with some green mirror card from my stash. I used the little flower stamp from the Season of Joy set and then stamped my greeting from the Welcome Christmas stamp set in Real Red ink and Old Olive. I finished of with the Whisper White Organzer ribbon.

So back to more course work, I will be glad when the end of march arrives.

Have a great week.

My little flock of robins

Hya,

Happy New Year to all of you in blogland. I hope 2011 brings all you want it to and lots of crafting of course.

I have been nice and quiet over christmas just spending time with the family and chillin out. So much so i have chilled out so much i need to get my act back together. I am looking forward to get my teeth in to it all. It's quite an exciting time with Stampin' Up. At the moment it's Sale-A-Bration time, which is when you get free stamp sets for spending over £45 on Stampin' Up products. Now i love that idea- free stamp sets.

I thought i would show you a project that i have made. This idea was given to me by Jo Dumbleton when we where at convention. We made swaps as you know and Jo's swap was a little bird house. I treasured this little box all through the day i was given it. So much so i made everyone a bird house for christmas full of choccies

The main house was made with Kraft cardstock stamped with the Serene Snowflakes set and Whisper White ink for the back ground. The roof is made with some retired christmas papers. The tag on the top is Real Red card. The robin on the front is made from the Two Step Bird Punch. The body is Choc Chip card and Cherry Cobbler for his little red breast. The branch is Old Olive with some red gemstones for the berries. ( this pic really doesn't do it justice, it was taken in a rush in not great lighting).

Here is a ' bad pic' of a few of my flock all together. Sorry for the bad pic, they really are better looking in real life.

So onwards and upwards. Time to get some work done i supppose. Thanks for looking,
