A sad reason for a card.

Hya,

How is your week going? Mines abit busy at work, nothing new there then. Just another sign of how things are going in the nhs.

I have finally got over the regional training on Friday but i am trying to think of some ideas to make swaps for convention. I thought i would show you some of my swaps that i recieved on friday. There are alot of talented people around. It was abit like christmas, looking through all my lovely goodies the next day.

I thought i would show you a card that i made. I can't say it was a joy to make as it was for a sad occasion. My friend has had a bereavement at the week end and i just wanted to show her that i am thinking about her and her family at such a sad time.

I have used some card stock that is retiring but it really worked colour wise for me. The base is Close to Cocoa with Pink Passion layered on top. The stampset used is Whimsical Wings stamped with Soft Suede ink and stamped on to Whisper White card stock. I have decoupaged the bird with a Pink Passion bird and then the wing is layered again on top. The ribbon which is Rose Red Double Stitched, is fastened on with a lovely jewel brad from the pretties kit, which is retiring, boo. It's hard to see the greeting, it just says 'Sending you Hugs' which is from a non s u set stamped in white.

Well that's it for now. Have a good rest of the week.

Manchester Training

Hya,

How are you all? Good week?

I bet you thought i had run away didn't you? Well no, i haven't really. It has just been one of those weeks where time has run away with me again. I have found out this week that i have quite abit of homework involved in my quest as a medical secretary. I have also this week attended some regional training in manchester for stampin' up. We had to make some cards to swap with other demonstrators and there were quite a few to make.

So i thought i would show you my swaps. I have used Melon Mambo card as my base, then layered it with Rich Razzleberry card. On to Whisper White card i stamped using the stampset Boroque Motifs in Melon Mambo ink. I stamped this again and decoupaged on to the Whisper White. I used a gem from my stash for the middle. I stamped using Rich Razzleberry ink again onto Whisper White using the Tiny Tags and used the Jewelry Tag punch to make little tags. These are fastened on with the Gold Elastic Cord.

Pink and girly, that's me!!

I love going to training, i get to see loads of people that i haven't seen for ages and also i get to meet people whose blogg i like to follow. The swaps i got back are very inspirational and lovely. I can't wait for convention!!

Here is a pic of me with the lovely kate who i haven't seen for quite a while. We were abit like naughty kids, god help us at convention as we are roomies.lol......

Well that's me for now. Have a great week.

christmas box set 2

Hya,

How are you all? Had a good week? Thank you for all your comments, especially wishing me a speedy recovery. Well they definatley worked. I am finally on the mend. I can't believe how much it knocked me off my feet.

Yesterday was a good day. I had my ladies over and they had a whale of a time. It was quite hard going but well worth it. They all made the box set for Christmas cards (which i have to say was a roaring success), so thanks to Jennie Moors for the lovely tuition.

The box on the left is my box and was made out of Soft Suede card, inked with Soft Suede ink pad for the background. The box on the right is courtesy of one of my ladies Irene. She used Real Red card stock that was stamped with Soft Suede ink. The snow flakes stamps are from the Serene Snowflakes stampset. How lovely are these boxes??? Will also make fab prezzies too.

Card 1 (above), is made with Night of Navy card stock and Serene Snowflakes is stamped with Night of Navy ink pad. I know in this pic it does look black but it's definatley navy blue. This card has got a little extra with the Gold Elastic Cord. My goodness this really does go along way. I bought a reel last Christmas and have done loads of projects and yesterdays class and i still have some left.

Card 2 is made with Real Red cardstock and inkpad. On the Whisper White for this one i have stamped some of the smaller snowflakes with the Champayne Shimmer Paint just to add abit of sparkle.

Well i hope you likey. I need to go and make 35 swaps for some training i am going to in Manchester next week. If your going i will see you there.

christmas box set

Hya,
Hows you? Having a good week? I hope your all ok. I am still recovering from the bronchitis that i have been battling with. I can't believe how much it has knocked me off my feet. I have gone back to work because iam not very good at being a patient.
I thought i would show you a couple of cards that my ladies are going to be making on saturday. We are making a box that will hold approx six cards. This set is a lovely creation by the very clever Jennie Moors. I can't wait to meet her at convention.
These cards are made using the Serene Snowflake stampset. I know that i am showing you black and white cards again but they really do look the part. I have used Basic Black ink pad stamped on to Whisper White card. It's abit hard to tell but i have decoupaged the main centre and then added a pearl jem for extra detail in the middle. I have used the Tiny Tags stampset and fastened them on with the Gold Elastic Cord.

On the next card i have used the Shimmer Paint in Champayne to add some sparkle to the background for detail. Also i added a star brad for the middle and then some plain brads for the corners.

I have done some more cards for the box in a different colour way but i wont bore you now, i will do it later.lol.....

Right, i am off. Thanks for looking.

The first christmas card

Hya,

How are you? Good week? Sorry for not posting this week, i have come down with a really bad cold. Me being me it's not just any cold, oh no! I seem to have developed abit of bronchitis too. You know my theory if you do something you may as well go the whole hogg. I missed out on a class at Julies and at Harrogate Papercraft Show which i am cheesed off about. I need to be back on track though as i have a class booked with my ladies next week and i can't let them down.

Anyway, enough feeling sorry for myself, i thought i would show you a card with a stamp set that is retiring at the end of september. The set is called Silent Night and when made in various colours it looks so different.

This first card was stamped with Not Quite Navy ink on to Whisper White card. then layered on to Brilliant Blue card and then the back is Brocade Blue card, both of which are retiring at the end of september.

The second card is stamped with Old Olive, which is staying, yesss!!Then layered on to Always Artichoke. The back card is Kraft card stock which is also retiring.
The greeting on the fronts of the cards is from the Season of Joy set which is so usefull for lots of other cards too. It's abit hard to see but i have finished off with Dazzling Diamonds. It really makes it look like the snow is glistening. How pretty.
Well i am off to do a few chores now and then some prep work for next week.
Have a good week,

What a year!

Hya,

How has your weekend been? Mines ok. I have had the chance today to get some fruit and vegatables from a friends allotment. How good is that. They taste so much better than the shop bought ones, also saves a fortune.

Oh my goodness, I have been a Stampin' Up demonstrator a whole year. and what a year it has been. I have met some lovely people and made some great friends. I have to say a 'BIG' thankyou to my stampin' up mum Julie. She has been there and answered any daft questions i have had along the way. I wouldn't have been able to do all i have without her help.

This week has been exciting for stampin' up demonstrators. We have been given a sneak peak at what the new catalogue has in store for us this next year. There's alot of nice goodies for us to be able to order on the 1st of october.

So on that note i will show you a card i was asked to make for an order. I used one of my favourites the 'Crazy for Cupcakes'. It is a great set and versatile for any age group. I used some papers for backing which are old retired papers (Sweet Always) but work perfect with this set. The lovely ribbon used is Choc Chip Satin Ribbon which is retiring, boo hoo.

I know you can't see very well but i put glitter on the cherries to make it more girly. I wouldn't be me without abit of bling.

Right, I suppose i should go and do the boring ironing.

Have a great week,
